COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Mary Ellen’s volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity is extensive: besides participating in construction at various times in each project, she acts as event organizer, speaker and fundraiser. Also an active participant in other areas of her community, she serves on the boards of several organizations in Fairfield County, including the National Charity League, A Better Chance of Westport, Service League of Boys and the Mercy Learning Center of Bridgeport.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND: Before joining KMS Partners and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Mary Ellen was a project manager for a large residential and commercial contractor in Fairfield County where she successfully helped with the development of residential and commercial properties as well as securing municipal financing for projects. Prior to becoming a Realtor, Mary Ellen managed and maintained client relationships for various financial institutions in New York City. She also taught business classes in the International Baccalaureate Program at the International School of Basel, Switzerland.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND: Originally from Westchester County, NY, Mary Ellen relocated to Westport in 1999 after spending several years in Basel, Switzerland. The Gallaghers traveled extensively while living in Europe. She, and her husband John, raised their 2 children in Westport for the past 12 years, spending many hours cheering both children on from the sport sidelines and theater halls, traveling and skiing. Mary Ellen enjoys volunteering in the community, giving back when and wherever she can.
